Position Title: Director Enterprise Architecture
Position Location: Salisbury, NC or Quincy, MA
Position Summary:
Define the architectural vision, strategy and IT roadmap that is
achievable and commercially viable across all business and TOGAF
domains and to govern the associated solution decisions. This will
drive consistency across the organization to optimize cost and
maximize re-use. Additionally, to provide new technology solutions
to win market share, get closer to the customer and increase
productivity.
1. Architecture Leadership. Lead and inspire IT teams in the areas
of Architecture, Solution Delivery and IT Service Delivery to
develop and establish a high performing and service driven culture
that will deliver high productivity
2. IT Strategy & Roadmap. Define the IT strategy, roadmap and
transition plan - including life cycle management - that enables
the organization to achieve its business strategy and financial
performance targets.
3. Professional standards, policies and ways of working. Global
design of consistent standards, principles, policies and reference
models in the area of IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture
including application, security, infrastructure, information/data,
data analytics and integration architecture.
4. Enterprise Architecture Operation. Ensure the consistency of the
enterprise architecture including the transition from current to
future state, considering the best use of current
[old-legacy-bespoke], new-bespoke and package solutions, and
planning the decommissioning of redundant solutions
5. Innovation & New technology. Stay abreast of innovations and
technology trends within our industry and understand the impact on
our organization. Incorporate the innovation agenda into the IT
strategy and roadmap to accelerate delivery of the business
strategy.
6. Financial Management. Instill financial discipline into the
architectural ways of working and ensure that the IT roadmap fits
into the financial constraints within which the business is
operating.
7. Risk, Compliance, Security. Develop and manage an architecture
governance process to ensure compliance to security, privacy and
regulatory aspects of all projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Architecture Leadership
Lead and inspire IT teams in the areas of Architecture, Solution
Delivery and IT Service Delivery to develop and establish a high
performing and service driven culture that will deliver high
productivity
--- Establish an architecture community which is a beacon of
excellence within Ahold Delhaize and to embed architectural
thinking as a way of working within Ahold Delhaize IT
--- Attract, develop, appraise and coach associates to ensure
talent development and succession planning
--- Challenge current status and drive changes to improve business
performance and productivity
--- Drive development of next generation IT talent by implementing
career paths to enhance associate performance
IT Strategy & Roadmap
Define the IT strategy, roadmap and transition plan - including
life cycle management - that enables the organization to achieve
its business strategy and financial performance targets.
--- Lead the development of the IT Strategy and the process of
roadmap development to secure business and IT sign-off
--- Support the execution of the roadmap and the transition of the
IT landscape towards target state set out in the IT strategy
--- Establish the enterprise-wide architecture processes,
compliance and global/local governance & collaboration processes
and to support/oversee the associated decision making and
documentation
--- Base recommendations on a thorough understanding of the
business issues & opportunities, and technology developments
--- Document and maintain the plans, adjusting as required for
changing business requirements for systems of record,
differentiation and innovation.
Professional standards, policies and ways of working
Global design of consistent standards, principles, policies and
reference models in the area of IT Strategy and Enterprise
Architecture including application, security, infrastructure,
information/data, data analytics and integration architecture.
--- Develop consistent standards, principles, policies and
reference models to be implemented by domain and solution
architects
--- Lead the implementation of principles, policies, and reference
models and monitor KPI's across all TOGAF and business domains
--- Support domain and solution architects translate IT strategy
and reference architectures into domain specific architecture
visions and reference models
--- Govern IT decision making through the application of
principles, policies and reference models to solution review and
sign-off.
Enterprise Architecture Operations
Ensure the consistency of the enterprise architecture including the
transition from current to future state, considering the best use
of current [old-legacy-bespoke], new-bespoke and package solutions,
and planning the decommissioning of redundant solutions.
--- Maintain close working relationships with executive and
business management to understand business and technology goals and
requirements
--- Support project teams when unexpected architecture issues are
encountered to resolve design issues at pace
--- Ensure that the value of existing/old technology is maximized
and that the most appropriate decisions are taken on replacement of
old - considering the business improvements delivered, overall
cost, scale of business change and elapsed time in delivery
--- Follow industry trends within retail and CPG to develop
architecture visions which position Ahold Delhaize to be best
placed to leverage these trends
--- Understand role of 3rd parties (and their solutions) within our
systems landscape to determine how the best value from 3rd party IT
vendors can be achieved.
Innovation & New technology
Stay abreast of innovations and technology trends within our
industry and understand the impact on our organization. Incorporate
the innovation agenda into the IT strategy and roadmap to
accelerate delivery of the business strategy.
--- Proactively stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends
and incorporate in IT roadmap and transition plan
--- Lead the thinking on trends in emerging technologies and
strategies and advice business and IT leaders accordingly
--- Align the innovation agenda to the technology trends which will
have a material impact on our industry
--- Work with 3rd parties to understand their innovation agendas
and technology roadmaps and incorporate into our overall IT
strategy and roadmap.
Financial Management
Instill financial discipline into the architectural ways of working
and ensure that the IT roadmap fits into the financial constraints
within which the business is operating.
--- Align the roadmap to the long range plans and financial budgets
of the businesses
--- Ensure that the TCO implications of architect decisions are
factored into the solution choices
--- Review and sign-off investment proposals to ensure alignment of
IP to architecture designs
--- Design solutions with software licence implications in mind to
control licence costs and ensure compliance
--- Maintain technical debt registers to ensure that the cost of
technical debt is managed and informs the software lifecycle
management processes.
Risk, Compliance, Security
Develop and manage an architecture governance process to ensure
compliance to security, privacy and regulatory aspects of all
projects.
--- Define the architectural principles and policies by which
solution will adhere to the security, privacy and compliance
regimes
--- Support the program & project delivery teams embed security,
privacy and regulatory needs into the solution designs. -Control
solutions to these standards through the implementation of strong
architectural governance of solutions.
#Dicejob Requirements Basic Qualifications:
--- Master's degree or equivalent work experience in business,
technology or related field
--- Computer Sciences Master's Degree Preferred
--- 10 + years of experience of Development Solutions and
Architecture experience
--- 7+ years effectively leading large, complex programs with
significant change impact, multiple dependencies within and
organizational boundaries
--- 5+ years of experience in Retail industry preferred
--- Experience in design is a plus
Specific Knowledge:
--- REST API
--- Understanding and thorough experience with Agile practices such
as scrum and Kanban along with the ability to promote best
practices where opportunities present themselves
--- DevOps practices and tooling such as CI, CD,
infrastructure-as-code, pipeline automation, Jenkins, git,
ansible
--- Open source
--- Design thinking
