Job Description:
Foulsham Corp., a fast-growing, well-respected concrete, masonry
and excavation company based in Quincy, MA, is looking for an
experienced accounting and administrative manager to join the team
in this part-time role! This is an exciting opportunity for a
highly motivated individual to have a significant impact from day
one, working directly with the owner on a number of key projects
important to the company's continued growth. This position offers
great growth potential for a candidate looking to develop their
career in Accounting. Foulsham Corp. offers competitive pay with
the potential for a flexible, partially remote schedule. This job
will require at least 3 partial days in office, but the successful
candidate will have the opportunity to work with the owner to
determine a schedule that suits any specific needs or
preferences.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage full cycle of accounting operations and accurately record
day-to-day financial transactions
Ensure proper recording and classification of all revenue,
expenses, assets & liabilities, maintaining bank balances and
making general ledger (GL) adjustments as needed; Ensure correct
set-up of new GL Accounts (and sub-accounts) to chart of
accounts
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable ensuring timely
incoming payments and receipt of payments, and maintaining strong
relationships with vendors and customers
Maintain bank accounts and perform monthly bank reconciliations
Manage and process weekly payroll through PayChex payroll
system
Ongoing communication with field crew including the collection and
recording of daily job log sheets
Conduct various financial analysis related to costs, inventory, and
expense information; Review and analyze actual job cost vs.
budget/standard and recommend changes/improvements
Establish and maintain a process for analyzing and reporting on
working capital, job costing and overhead
Establish and maintain a monthly, quarterly and annual closing
process to ensure accurate and up-to-date books
Assist with site visit and job scheduling and coordination,
fostering strong relationships with customers and vendors and
working closely with the owner to manage the company calendar
Assist in administration of liability insurance and workers
compensation including plan maintenance, renewals and audits
Manage human resources practices including employment agreements,
benefits and 401k administration, and fielding questions and
concerns from field crew
Create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal and tax
requirements compliance
Qualifications and Requirements:
5+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience
Experience working in the construction industry / construction
accounting
Experience using QuickBooks Desktop and PayChex (or similar payroll
administrator)
Job costing and budget analysis experience
Solid understanding of accounts payable/receivable principles,
payroll, and tax documentation
Strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Accounting/finance degree preferred
