Description: The Opportunity: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is directly
responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of persons
served with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring
disorders. The PMHNP coordinates care with persons served
integrated clinical care team, VOAMASS programs, and external
providers to ensure that supportive therapy and proper medication
prescribing is being done. All in addition to working with an
incredibly talented multi-disciplinary team at VOAMASS to discuss
complex cases and review records of persons served. This role is
about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
You'll bring the following qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Certification as an ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health
Nurse Practitioner in the state of Massachusetts.
- A current license as a nurse practitioner in the state of
Massachusetts.
- Buprenorphine waiver practitioner preferred but must be will
work towards becoming waivered within the first four months of
employment.
- Must have experience in treating individuals who are receiving
treatment for mental health, substance use, dual diagnosis, and
co-occurring disorders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide
evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals with mental
health, substance use, dual diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders.
2. Conducts psychiatric and addiction assessments, which include:
mental status evaluation, current functioning, medical health
screenings, current medication, and prior medication history,
diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning. 3. Provides
prescribing practice for prescription of medication (psychiatric
and addiction medicine) and monitoring of symptoms related to the
use of medication as assigned and supervised by the Medical
Director. 4. Serves as part of the 24/7 mobile crisis team to
ensure that persons served are being provided psychopharmacology
and addiction medicine services with a no four walls approach, when
the need for stability is indicated. May intervene in emergency or
crisis situations according to 24/7 mobile crisis protocol. 5.
Serves as part of the ACT/IDDT team to ensure that persons served
enrolled in the ACT/IDDT are obtaining immediate access to
psychopharmacology and addiction medicine services, receiving
stabilization services, and continued monitoring for acute
symptomology. May intervene in emergency or crisis situations
according to ACT/IDDT team protocol. 6. Serves as part of the
integrated services care team and multidisciplinary review team to
enhance persons served experiences and maintain agency compliance
with state regulations and mental health professional standards.
Provides consultation and training to clinical staff as member of
the integrated service team. 7. Maintains records according to
VOAMASS Policies and Procedures, completing all documentation and
billing in a timely manner. Since 1934, VOAMASS has provided
