Job Description Summary The Medical Assistant/EMT is responsible
for supporting the practice with overall responsibility for
maintaining efficiency of patient flow. The Medical Assistant's
primary function will be to support a Specialty Clinic practice.
However, at the Practice Manager's discretion, will support all the
Speciality Practices as needed. The Medical Assistant II will be
responsible for greeting all patients in an appropriate manner,
assisting in removing shoes or braces if needed, neck, back and arm
supports, provide a brief report to provider before patient visits
with provider, assist with routine and complex procedures and
assist in determining reason for patient visit with the provider.
He/She will be responsible for all of the tracking of various tests
and/or screening for the patients being seen in the clinic. The
Medical Assistant II will also be responsible for maintaining
patient rooms, settting up and stocking, as well as ordering and
tracking supplies for the practice. Administrative responsibilities
will include, without limitation, all generally accepted office
responsibilities, making appointments, filing, answering phones,
preparing correspondence, preparing patient charts, obtaining
referrals and paperwork from referring provider's office and
ensuring patient's tests/studies/results are tracking in an
accurate and thorough manner. The Medical Assistant II will work
closely with the providers as well as the rest of the team to
ensure the patients receive optimal care. Job Description 1. Greets
patients coming in for appointments in a professional manner and
escorts them into patient exam rooms.
2. Assist with varied procedures within the practice including both
routine and non-routine (complex) procedures as directed and under
the supervision of the MD, NP, DPM, DO and/or PA. (The extent and
complexity of procedures will be practice specific and need to have
documentation of why considered complex).
a. Provide a variety of services including: assisting providers in
all minor procedures and wound care as requested. 3. Takes vital
signs and documents accordingly, verifies that all paperwork for
provider's visit is in folder for patient to be seen.
4. Assists administrative team in greeting patients, scheduling
appointments, processing orders, collecting encounter forms and

for immediate responses, takes messages appropriately and notifies
appropriate medical staff.
6. Responsible for coordination of room rotations. a. Assists with
varied procedures, as directed and under the supervision of the MD,
NP, DPM, DO and/or PA.
7. Assists with receiving test results for providers and calling
patient with follow up of labs and tests under direction of
physician, nurse practitioner and/or physician assistant.
8. Cleans instruments and equipment following infection control
guidelines. 9. Maintains sterilizer competencies.
10. Maintains excellent customer service and fosters an environment
of optimal patient care.
11. Ensures appropriate communication of changes in schedule with
providers, staff and patients.

Manager. 12. Cross-trains to assist in covering the front desk team
