Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Attleboro,
Massachusetts, 02703! Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered
Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery
Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 -
07:00) Experience: 2 years required License: Must have state
license in hand Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, BLS, NRP,
AWHONN Advanced (preferred), AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)
Must-Have: Charge experience preferred Description: L&D RN for
a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit. Patient age group includes
neonates to adults. Must provide weekend coverage every other week.
Charting system experience is required. All infants will room-in
with mothers. A newborn nursery will be used as needed for infants
requiring nursery care. Responsibilities include antepartum care,
triage of obstetric patients, and drawing venous blood. Nurses will
start and maintain IVs and administer medications such as Pitocin
and magnesium sulfate. Assistance with vaginal deliveries, forceps,
vacuum extraction, and recovery of C-sections is expected.
Assessment of APGAR scores and discharge teaching is required.
Nurses will provide breastfeeding support and lactation support to
new parents. Skills in recognizing and treating abnormal fetal
heart rate patterns are essential. Nurses must ensure proper
thermoregulation and care for infants post-delivery. Knowledge of
postpartum hemorrhage management and pregnancy-induced hypertension
is necessary. Isolation precautions and vaccine administration must
be followed. Interdisciplinary support services include physical
therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response
teams. Daily census is approximately 8 patients. The unit follows
baby-friendly protocols. Compliance with patient care policies and
procedures is mandatory. Documentation of care must be accurate and
