APPLICATIONS JAVA DEVELOPER - Job Overview The Medicaid Systems
Development team is seeking to hire a motivated IT Senior JAVA
Application Developer (Developer) to join its team supporting
MassHealth application development. MassHealth (MH) leads the
Massachusetts Medicaid program for families and individuals in need
of health care coverage. MassHealth applications support critical
functions to evaluate enrollment and renewal applications, case
management services, appeals tracking, determinations for access to
health care for some of Massachusetts' most vulnerable individuals.
Primary responsibilities will be to collaborate with the AWS
migration team to migrate the portfolio of applications to cloud
environment. As part of this effort the Developer will conduct
technical feasibility assessments across the application portfolio,
identify enhancements and review with team lead, administer
approved enhancements, and develop systems specifications, as well
as AWA migration documentation. The developer is expected to work
in and across teams indecently, develop technical diagrams and
schemas and where appropriate lead application development. This
position is anticipated to be a minimum six-month engagement with
the possibility of being extended for a longer term. Job Duties:
Conduct application's analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing,
and specification documentation. Develop applications to Business
Requirements Document (BRD) and or Software Architecture Document
(SAD). Collaborate with Shared Services team, i.e., Technical
Architect, Middleware, Release Management and Database
Administrator to finalize SAD; and coordinate relevant support. As
assigned collaborate with internal or external team members to
troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues. Ensure all
required technical artifacts such as technical design documents,
release management guide, deployment plan documents, and other
technical artifacts are complete and accurate. Ensure unit and
integration testing is completed prior to allowing code to be moved
to formal test cycle. Ensure appropriate SQL scripts for modifying
and maintaining data are complete and accurate. Write optimized
queries, views for integration with other applications. Ensure
compliance with development standards such ADA Accessibility,
Vulnerability and Performance. Ensure compliance with code change
control standards and use of enterprise MassForge tracker system.
Ensure compliance with schedule meeting attendance. Ensure timely
submission of status reports to PM and or Team Lead. Adhere to
established Commonwealth policy and procedures Required Skills:
Experienced developing high quality JAVA applications. Experienced
working with AWS core services and deploying cloud-based solutions
using AWS services such as VPCs, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS,
Glue, IAM, SQS, CloudWatch, Route53, ALB Code Pipeline etc.
migration JAVA applications to AWS. Experience creating a
well-document SADs and writing clean code Experience and knowable
of industry standards, design concepts and design patterns.
Experience working with technical and non-technical personnel to
deliver complex applications. Subject Matter Expert in Java/J2EE,
including Apache, Tomcat, Linux. Subject Matter Expert developing
multi-tier enterprise level web-based applications using Oracle and
Java/J2EE technologies, Hibernate, Spring and XML/XSLT and
Multi-threading concepts. Subject Matter Expert in PHP, AJAX,
Spring Boot, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery2.x/3.0,CSS and Angular JS
(2.0 or higher) or Node JS. Subject Matter Expert in Web Services
(Restful and SOAP) and security. Subject Matter Expert analyzing
and translating, statistically data and effectively report problems
through written and /or graphic format. Subject Matter Expert in
performance testing and tuning of applications. Prior experience
working in a matrix environment using waterfall or agile
methodologies. Prior experience working in a DevOps team
environment. Prior experience ability to mentor and lead technical
team members. Prior experience in .Net application design and
development a plus. Prior experience in healthcare standards such
as CCD/C-CDA, HL7, FHIR etc. is preferred. Qualifications: Bachelor
of Science in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent work
experience. 5 years' JAVA experience development web-based
applications. Strong technical skills. Strong verbal and written
communication skills. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and
problem-solving skills.
