At BCBSMA, we have a unique opportunity for working within Integration and Interoperability Team (IIT) as Senior Technical Analyst. They work with business, other enterprise technical stakeholders, API & EDI team and subject matter experts to analyze, design, build and implement EDI & API's needed within the organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enables us to deliver and improve on the product quickly. This role serves as a liaison between business and technical teams & provides strategic services like feasibility study, conceptual/logical data modeling and maintaining overall documentation. You will be expected to display strong service integration skills to put together analysis for various stakeholders for various projects.Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Product Manager/Owner, Business Users, Developers, and testers to successfully implement the EPIC/Stories.
  • Ability to convert business requirement as Epics and technical stories in agile setup.
  • Documents and recommends workflow changes and technical/functional designs needed to support the business requirements and technical changes for EDI/API implementations.
  • Design and develop API Swaggers. Owns the quality of the delivered API & EDI components.
  • Actively participate in technical design discussions.
  • Ensure proper setup of the EDI tools and Systems that support real-time and batch file transfers between Trading partners and BCBSMA.
  • Provide HIPAA compliant guidance to the team when additional information about BCBSMA requirements and industry standards for EDI protocols.
  • Understand the business mission, strategy, and processes of the API consumer applications along with IIT team strategy and provide implementation solutions using existing patterns, guidelines and framework.
  • Provides coaching and direction to other API/EDI analysts by coordinating the work of analysis and documentation of API/EDI mappings.
  • Develops and manages effective collaborative relationships with other departments, groups, peers, and subordinates.
  • Facilitates cross-team/train learnings, communication and alignment.
  • Coordinate EDI/API delivery end to end which includes Planning, Design, Development, Testing, and Delivery and support of API(s) and EDI components on waterfall corporate projects.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations, issues, risks, and decisions to project team and business stakeholder related to implementation.Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field of education or experience preferred.
    • 6-8 years of technology, preferably in Digital or Analytics, with adequate functional and analyst experience.
    • 6-8 years of systems integration experience preferably in a healthcare IT environmentTools & Other Experience:
      • 4-6 years of API and/or EDI analyst experience is required.
      • Clear understanding and working knowledge of HIPAA EDI protocols and/or FHIR resource model is required.
      • Test capability SOAPUI, Postman, SQL Developer.
      • Multi Database Experience Relational and NOSQL (SQL server /Oracle /MySQL /MongoDB /Cassandra /Hadoop)
      • Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices especially Swagger and OpenAPI 3.0, REST, SOAP, MQ, JDBC, X.12, JSON, Microservices etc.
      • Knowledge about EDI X12N transactions (834, 837, 835, 820, 270, 276, 278, etc)
      • Good understanding of Edifecs file transfer protocols on various EDI transactions
      • Strong analytical, design, problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
      • Hands on experience with Edifecs and/or Apigee Edge or other API Gateway experience preferred.
      • Understanding and experience on various test automation tools & techniques is a plus. Good to have previous experience working with proper DevSecOps delivery setup.
      • Hands on experience in documenting mapping documents for various EDI transactions
      • Experience in developing micro-services using spring boot/data flow applications and deploying them in Pivotal using CI/CD pipelines.
      • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly and showcase it by obtaining certificates on ongoing basis.
