Production Supervisor

About the role:

The Production Supervisor supervises the Production and Value Added Services (VAS) Operations in Quincy. Responsible for continuous improvement projects, fostering teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment. Position requires direct involvement with Quality Assurance. Represent Production and VAS Operations during third party audits and internal audits. Support validation testing and the launch of new products, components, and equipment

You will oversee the production process and production documentation (SOPs, and Work Instructions) to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and the BSC Quality Policy. Support continuous improvement projects in Production area, fostering teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment. Position requires direct involvement with Quality Assurance team. Represent Production (including Rework & LLI) Operations during third party audits and internal audits. Support validation testing and the launch of new products, components, and equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise, lead and coach a group of production material handling personnel, product builders and production trainers while spending time on the production floor
  • Understands the functions of MES, SAP and WMS, including running reports. Responsible for conducting basic and routine troubleshooting if applicable to the area. Meet daily production plans, proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Create and release work orders utilizing MES, SAP, and WMS. And assign work to material handlers and product builders based on priorities and available capacities
  • Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures and quality regulations. Drive department performance through various production and quality metrics such as output, yield, production schedule, daily fill rates.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the production documentation (using BSC's document control system). Work closely with supply chain, BSC manufacturing sites, and quality to coordinate production builds and ensure product quality and patient safety.
  • Develop and communicate departmental goals in order to achieve effective core metric performance
  • Encourage involvement and provide communication on key business initiatives (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, Shared Leadership, Employee Involvement, etc.).
  • Promote, monitor and ensure a safe work environment and adhere to all safety policies
  • Investigate root cause(s) of non-conformances (i.e. PRR, audit, etc.), identify and execute corrective actions by expected completion date(s).
  • Work closely with cross-functional groups (i.e. engineering, calibration, materials management, equipment engineering and quality) in order to achieve plant and departmental objectives.Provide leadership and consistently adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training related to Production and VAS Operations to the production personnel. Oversee and manage the training records for the production personnel using the electronic training system. Ensure compliance to the training plans, procedures, and industry regulations. Represent Production and VAS Operations during third party audits and internal audits. Support validation testing and the launch of new products, components, and equipment. Support site and corporate Quality initiatives and CAPAs. Manage various projects, tasks, and site initiatives as assigned.
  • As an integral member of production team, strive to meet daily/ weekly production goals in order to achieve targeted core metric performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Other activities and responsibilities as directed by management

What we're looking for in you:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 plus years Manufacturing experience
  • 1 plus years of people leadership experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience presenting to management and front-line staff
  • Ability to work with multiple teams both internal and external

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Medical device, pharmacy experience or experience in a highly regulated industry
  • SAP experience
  • MES experience
