Digital Marketing Manager - Located in Concord, NH

Job Description:

As a member of the St. Paul’s School Communications Office and reporting to the director of communications, the digital marketing manager will develop and execute social media and digital marketing plans reflective of the School’s mission and values and in concert with the department’s broader strategic communications plan. The person in this role will be an editorial strategist and a skilled and nimble storyteller who is well-versed in managing multiple social media platforms and executing digital marketing campaigns. The digital marketing manager will be guided by audience metrics, stay abreast of industry trends, and implement UX best practices in their work to increase engagement on all digital platforms.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Engage SPS current and prospective students and their families, alumni, and other constituents through relevant, creative, and authentic digital content produced on multiple channels.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that strengthens connection to the School.
  • Manage all School social media channels, driven by a coordinated editorial strategy and through industry best practices and trends.
  • Ensure excellence and innovation around social creative content output.
  • Maintain and enforce SPS social media policies and guidelines with internal and external stakeholders and audiences. Act as a resource for internal groups seeking a social media presence.
  • Manage and support editorial calendars and collaborate within Communications and across departments on transmedia storytelling.
  • Partner with School departments, particularly the Admission and Advancement offices, to develop digital content strategies and campaigns.
  • Evaluate UX and audience digital engagement to optimize user experience and support department goals.
  • Work with students and student groups to help share their stories.
  • Serve as a reporter-at-large to directly cover School life on the grounds.
  • Write and edit content for digital media, including email marketing, with an eye for excellence and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Communications director and department colleagues to develop a centralized email marketing strategy that minimizes excess email traffic and maximizes audience engagement.
  • Apply segmentation strategies, as needed, to customize content by audience.
  • Collaborate with digital agencies and other vendors as needed.


Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential physical and academic duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field, plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in digital marketing, with deep knowledge of current trends, best practices and how digital media fits within a larger strategic vision.
  • Exhibited expertise in social media strategy and channel management.
  • Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with digital marketing platforms like HubSpot desired.
  • Ability to regularly be on the grounds reporting on people and events. Must be able to cover some evening and weekend activities taking place at the School.
  • Skill in writing for different audiences while maintaining a unified school voice.
  • Sensitive to audience needs and how the School is reflected in the content posted online.
  • Ability to create engaging content for social media and the web, and for wider use on other School platforms and publications.
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Strong commitment to professionalism, deadlines, and teamwork.
  • Possess a degree of skill in photography and videography to produce content for social media and the web.
  • Knowledge of analytics, metrics, and how to use them in strategy development is desired.
  • Experience in an educational institution or nonprofit organization is preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and be capable of using visual display keyboard with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The work environment is a typical office; however, going to other work locations through grounds of the School is expected.  Frequent exposure to outdoor environment.


Comments:  Routinely a Monday through Friday, regular business hour schedule.  However, evenings and weekend responsibilities may be worked as this position is responsible for coverage of outdoor, evening and weekend activities as needed.
