Position Title: Retail Innovation Training Specialist

Position Location: Quincy, MA

Job Objective

The RI Training Specialist is responsible for the development and dissemination of technical content for users of Retail Innovation Center of Excellence (RI CoE) delivered solutions. After development, the control of technical content and training materials for new solutions will be turned over to the entity charged with on-going support of the tool/solution. The role requires translating technical processes and procedures into language that can be easily comprehended by store associates. The RI Training Specialist will conduct studies that confirm the functionality and usability of various media used to document and communicate standards and processes. Role will be required to coordinate workflow between Retail Innovation Center of Excellence and Brand Store Support.

1.Develop Training Materials

Supports Initiative Teams in developing training materials for RI CoE initiatives to enable piloting and deployment of solution to ADUSA brands.

  • Work with Initiative Managers and brands to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring associates to better understand changes in policies, practices, procedures, regulations, and technologies associated with RI CoE initiatives
  • Translate complex concepts into easily understandable language with a writing/communication style to target store level associates
  • Formulate training programs and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops most appropriate for deploying a new solution
  • Develop (or select) learning aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works that will be used within the training documentation for RI CoE delivered solutions
  • Prepare store facing reference materials (standards and process related) for posting on the Intranet and other repositories; Coordinate with Legal when required
  • Work with Brand Store Communication team to post to the Intranet or other repositories after approved.

2.Quality Control and Training Material Turnover

Ensure training materials support new user adoption of RI CoE solutions and turnover control of training materials to brands

  • Conduct usability studies, verifying that materials used by store associates are succinct and understandable
  • Develop quality control process for training material and associated documentation inclusive of but not limited to version control and periodic reviews of archived materials
  • Transition ownership of training materials to entity supporting on-going maintenance and support of solution/tool for continued updates to training materials
  • Ensure alignment of training materials with overall RI CoE communications and change management strategy
  • Ensure training best practices and lessons learned are shared across initiative teams

Bachelor's degree

Experience

5 - 7 years
