20 hours per weekWe are currently seeking a Nutrition Assistant to provide nutrition services to WIC applicants and participants which includes high risk woman, infants and children. Women, Infants and Children(WIC) is a public health program that benefits low and moderate income families by providing services to pregnant and postpartum woman with infants and young children up to the age of 5 who are medically or nutritionally at risk. This position is responsible for eligibility determination, scheduling, processing and providing WIC services to participants, providing basic nutrition education to low-risk participants, and other office/clerical duties. Fluency in Portugues and/or Spanish preferred. Training will be provided. + Maintain WIC confidentiality policies. Perform other duties deemed necessary+ Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred .+ High School Diploma or GED. + One year office experience with good computer skills. + One year experience in a health care field, such as a counselor, educator, clinical assistant, outreach worker or home health aide. + Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. + Well-organized, systematic, team-work approach to work.+ Interest in nutrition or health care. + Sensitivity to the needs of participant population.
