Application Development Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA): The Application Development Consultant will serve as a Mainframe Developer and will work on the Accounting Platform for the Company. This position will utilize accounting skills and will apply a thorough understanding of MCH, eHorizon, and agile development. This position will work with cross functional teams to develop SQL, PL1, and Cobol. Specific duties of the position include: apply knowledge of JCL, MQ, CICS, RTC, and Native SQL Stored Procedures; apply a working proficiency in Db2; analyze business requirements and develop solutions for business needs; modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance; analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces; store and retrieve data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements; design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; take a lead in designing solutions to meet business requirements; and guide more junior staff during the development phases. Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent degree, in Computer Science or a related technical field plus 5 years of relevant application development experience. Must have: Total experience above must include the following: 3 years of experience in PL1/Cobol; and 1 year of experience in DB2; solid knowledge of JCL and CICS; demonstrated working proficiency in Db2; solid knowledge of MQ, RTC, and Native SQL Stored Procedures; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner both written and orally; proven success in a role requiring the ability to be a team player with a positive attitude, initiative, and self-motivation; demonstrated prior success in a role requiring the ability to multi-task and meet aggressive timelines .
