Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Crossbow Therapeutics is seeking
a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist –
Protein Sciences to join our Antibody Development Team in
Cambridge, MA. This individual will contribute to the development
and characterization of therapeutic antibodies for both therapeutic
applications and research initiatives. This role provides the
opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to
produce, purify, and analytically characterize antibodies and
fusion proteins. The ideal candidate will possess a solid
foundation in biochemistry or a related field, along with hands-on
experience in protein analytical techniques, production, and
purification. If you are passionate about protein science and eager
to make a significant contribution, this role offers a dynamic
opportunity to contribute to innovative therapeutic developments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform production of
recombinant monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, and other
proteins using mammalian protein expression systems (e.g., CHO,
HEK293). Implement various chromatography methods (affinity, IEX,
SEC, HIC, MMC) for the purification of antibodies and other
proteins. Conduct comprehensive analyses to assess protein purity
and quality using SDS-PAGE, UV/Vis spectroscopy, HPLC tools, and
other relevant analytical methods. Operate and maintain AKTA FPLC
systems and analytical HPLC instruments to ensure efficient
workflow. Address and resolve technical challenges that arise in
protein analytical and purification workflows, ensuring
high-quality results. Work with the team to develop and implement
sophisticated analytical methods (HPLC, BLI, ELISA, etc.) for the
characterization of antibodies and other proteins. Document and
maintain precise records of laboratory activities using an
electronic laboratory notebook (Benchling) and communicate findings
clearly through written reports and presentations. Actively stay
informed about advancements in protein analytical, production, and
purification technologies to continuously enhance methodologies.
Provide technical and resourcing support to other functional groups
as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree 6 years with relevant
experience, Master's 3 years in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or
a related field. Demonstrated hands-on expertise in mammalian
expression systems, including CHO and HEK293. Demonstrated
expertise in protein purification, with the ability to
independently design and execute purification strategies with
minimal supervision; proficiency with ÄKTA chromatography systems
is required. Proficiency in chromatography techniques relevant to
antibody and bispecific protein production, including Protein A
affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography (IEX), and
size exclusion chromatography (SEC); experience with mixed-mode
chromatography or HIC is a plus. Experience producing complex
biologics, such as bispecific antibodies, multispecific proteins,
or engineered antibody formats. Solid understanding of protein
biochemistry and developability considerations, including purity,
aggregation, and stability. Working knowledge of protein analytical
techniques, with a strong interest and aptitude to expand skills in
this area. Experience using Agilent HPLC systems for protein
analytics. Ability to work independently and manage experiments
end-to-end, including experimental planning, execution,
troubleshooting, and documentation. Strong organizational and data
analysis skills, with attention to detail and reproducibility.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for
cross-functional collaboration. This position requires on-site work
5 days per week at our office in Harvard Square, Cambridge,
Massachusetts. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
